What Can Plastics Do?
Plastics are a very broad and highly capable range of products. One of the most important tasks of designers and developers is to choose just the right plastic, one that best meets a part’s performance requirements and at the same time respects cost considerations.
This series is mainly about the properties of plastics. The first article discusses the subject in relation to plastics in general. Other articles examine properties in greater detail, to show how they influence the choice of the right plastic for the job and its requirements.
Here's a quick list of the chapter titles in this series.
- 1. Choosing plastics to match the application.
- 2. Plastics that show their strength
- 3. Which polymers suit electronics?
- 4. Which plastics are flame-retardant?
- 5. Which are the best plastics for use in the auto sector?
- 6. How can you improve polymers’ qualities?
- 7. How do you increase plastics’ toughness?
- 8. How do you achieve a high quality surface?
- 9. How can you boost elasticity?
- 10. Which plastics have the best flowability?
- 11. Which polymers are ideal for moulding?
- 12. Which polymers have good abrasion resistance?
